Questions?

Starting therapy is a big step, and it’s natural to have questions first. We’ve gathered the ones we hear most often below - and if yours isn’t here, we’d love to hear from you.

General

We don't believe in one-size-fits-all care. Our therapists take time to truly know you and tailor your care to your goals, your story, and your life. Our approach is relational, embodied, and experiential — going beyond surface-level insight to support deep, lasting healing. From your first phone call to your last session, we work to make every step feel warm, supportive, and judgment-free.

Yes. We offer a free 15-minute phone consultation, and it's a great no-pressure way to start. It's a chance to share a little about what's bringing you in, ask any questions you have, and get a sense of whether we feel like the right fit — all before you commit to a first session. If it feels right, we'll help you get scheduled. If not, that's okay too.

Nothing more you need to do but wait for our call. Your clinician will reach out to you directly from their own line at your scheduled time, so you can talk one-on-one and get any questions answered. If you'd prefer to meet in person for your consultation instead, just reach out to your individual clinician and ask — they'll let you know whether they're able to accommodate that.

The first step is simply to reach out for your free 15-minute phone consultation. You can fill out the contact form on our website, call us at (208) 450-5645, or email us at info@alpineintegrativewellness.com, and our team will help match you with the right therapist and answer any questions before you book. When you're ready to take that first step, our team is here to help.

There’s no single “right” way to do therapy, because what works beautifully for one person may not fit another. So we tailor our approach to you. Early on, your therapist will take time to get to know you — what's bringing you in, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping to gain. From there, the two of you will decide together on an approach that fits your goals, your personality, and your life. You're a partner in the process the whole way through.

Yes. We see clients in person at our offices in Boise, Meridian, Ketchum, and Hailey, and we also offer secure telehealth sessions so you can meet with your therapist from the comfort and privacy of home. If you choose online sessions, we recommend finding a quiet, private spot where you can relax and speak freely. Whether you come to us or meet virtually, our goal is the same: to make the experience feel comfortable and supportive.

Yes. We take your privacy seriously, online and in person. Our telehealth sessions take place over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, so your conversations stay confidential. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection, and we'll help you with anything you need to get connected.

We're an outpatient practice and aren't able to provide emergency or crisis care. If you're in crisis or worried about your safety, please call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911 right away. Once you're safe, we'd be honored to support you in ongoing care.

Yes. We accept most major insurances, and we also welcome private-pay clients. If you don't see your plan listed or aren't sure about your coverage, reach out — we're happy to help you understand your options.

We ask all clients to keep a credit card securely on file before their first session. This simply makes billing easier — copays, balances, and any applicable fees can be handled smoothly, so you can focus on your care instead of paperwork. Your information is stored securely and confidentially.

We understand that life happens, and sometimes you need to change your plans. We simply ask that you give us at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. For cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance, we charge your clinician's private pay rate to the card on file. That rate depends on each clinician's licensure and training, so it varies from one therapist to another — your clinician can let you know their specific rate. We charge the full rate because that time was reserved exclusively for you. When a session is canceled at the last minute, there usually isn't enough notice to offer the slot to someone else who needs care, which means your clinician has set aside that time and is unable to fill it. Honoring the policy allows us to keep our schedules fair, respect everyone's time, and continue offering consistent, dependable care to all of our clients. Thank you for understanding.

We're happy to help with anything billing-related. Just reach out to our billing manager at manager@alpineintegrativewellness.com with any questions or concerns, and they'll take good care of you.

Services - EMDR

It's a common worry, and a fair one. Your therapist works carefully to keep you within your “window of tolerance” — the zone where healing can happen without becoming too much. Through grounding, preparation, and ongoing check-ins, the process stays safe and manageable, and you can always slow down.

EMDR uses gentle bilateral stimulation — like guided eye movements, tapping, or sounds — to help your brain reprocess painful memories. Over time, those memories lose their emotional “charge,” so you can recall what happened without reliving the distress.

Services - Somatic

SE can help with trauma and PTSD, anxiety and panic, chronic tension or pain, emotional overwhelm or numbness, and recovery from accidents, injuries, or medical procedures. It's also a wonderful tool for building resilience and feeling more grounded.

Services - IFS

It's simpler than it sounds. Parts are just the different voices or feelings we all experience — the inner critic, the anxious part, the part that wants to avoid. IFS helps you get to know these parts with curiosity instead of judgment, so they no longer feel at war with one another.

IFS is effective for trauma, anxiety and depression, shame and self-criticism, relationship challenges, and emotional regulation. It's also a powerful path for personal growth and deeper self-understanding.

Services - PACT

PACT is highly experiential — your therapist often works with what's unfolding between you and your partner in real time, rather than just talking about it. This helps couples spot and shift the unconscious patterns that lead to conflict or disconnection.

PACT can strengthen communication and conflict resolution, deepen emotional and physical intimacy, repair breaches of trust, help you navigate major life transitions, and reinforce long-term commitment.

Services - Neurofeedback

Many people use neurofeedback to support anxiety, depression, ADHD, sleep difficulties, and stress-related concerns. Others find it helps with mood stability, focus, resilience, and overall mental clarity.
